Aigiri Foundation was born from a deeply personal journey of pain, reflection, and a renewed purpose to serve.
I am Rithiksha, Founder of Aigiri Foundation.
In 2023, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. What followed was a journey that challenged me physically, emotionally, and mentally. But while going through my own battle, I began to look beyond my personal experience — and noticed something much larger: the struggles of countless people around me.
I saw people battling serious illnesses, facing financial difficulties, and struggling with the emotional, mental, and physical weight of hardship. I saw elderly people and young children going through difficult situations without anyone beside them — not just for practical help, but sometimes simply for compassion, care, and love.
I realized I could never fully understand or take away another person's pain. But I began asking myself a different question:
If I cannot take away their pain, what can I do to make their journey a little easier?
That question became the beginning of Aigiri Foundation.
I began to believe that meaningful change doesn't always have to start with something extraordinary. Sometimes, it begins with awareness, education, compassion — and simply choosing to be there for someone who needs support.
When life gave me a second chance, I didn't want to live it only for myself. I wanted to use that chance to create something meaningful — to stand beside people in vulnerable situations, to raise awareness, to support those in need, and to work towards a kinder, more compassionate world.
And that is how Aigiri Foundation was born.
Aigiri Foundation is not merely an organisation — it is an expression of a personal realization: when we cannot change every person's circumstances, we can still choose to make a difference in the lives we are able to reach.
